About our Product
Emac & Lawton collections are carefully selected from many different countries around the world. They are both diversified and versatile, to accent and compliment a variety of different decors. They combine creative design with an old world craftsmanship and finished with a contemporary approach.
Our finishes, whether in natural wood, wicker, brass, aluminium or tin, are softened appropriately and aged with patina's and waxes by hand, to achieve a subtle character.
Emac & Lawton's aim is to provide a quality designer-styled product at an appealing and competitive price.
Due to the hand-crafted nature, minor imperfections and dimensional differences are part of the inherent beauty, intrinsic value and aesthetic appeal of each individual piece; Mouth blown glass may have air holes and varying thicknesses. Metal products may have tiny pinholes, solder joints & hammer marks. Colours & patterns in hand painting can never be exact. Natural textures & fibres can also vary from each item and shipment. We recommend, due to the handmade nature, that pairs of lamp bases and lamp shades are ordered together.

Toleware Collection:
The word "Toleware" originates from the French meaning of l acquered or enamelled metal ware. In the 1700's, imported glossy black tin tea caddies & tea trays referred to as "Japanned ware" became popular. Sheffield & Wales then started to produce many black enamelled items to counteract the imports. Skilled artists from the ceramic factories were used to create the "one stroke" style, increasing a very high demand. By the 1750's, the work was often gilded. Emac & Lawton's Toleware collection is beautifully executed. Completely hand painted with intricate detail in the traditional method, in both Chinoiserie & French designs. A variety of decorative lamps & accessories are available. |
